Executive Presentations & Pitches

Throughout my career as a professional Voiceover artist, Voiceover coach, and theatrical acting coach for the last 25 years, I have learned that good material and a great performance are not enough to capture the imagination and attention of the audience/listener.

Authenticity is the Key. Your audience/listener needs to FEEL your sincerity. All the appropriate colored ties or neckline shapes, all body language lessons, all the vocal warm-ups cannot deliver a message. And you cannot rely solely on the dissemination of your technology, facts, figures, and statistics. YOU deliver the message. By meaning it. It’s not acting but it is what acting is. Not to teach or instruct or convince, but to share - yourself and the message you hope connects, inspires, moves, influences your listener. YOU - authentically you - ARE the message. Your personal style - how you share your perspective, your opinion, your material is what entices the listener into really paying close attention and taking in your message.

Learn to BE in the moment and truly see and consider your listener, establishing common ground.

Develop your relationship with them by authentically SHARING what you’d like them to be aware of for the benefit of all. Your warmth, confidence, and connection on remote or in-person meetings are what will bridge the distance between you and the people on the other side of the podium, monitor, radio, or TV.

I was trained by Uta Hagen, arguably one of the greatest acting teachers in history. She taught me I had to commit truth and connection - in this moment. Not a bad idea for life, let alone ‘the stage’. What is required to deliver a solid theatrical performance or commercial audition is the same as what is required when public speaking, giving a keynote address, commenting on a blog, or addressing a meeting of over 15,000 employees. The best presentation you can give, will (and must) come from you truly being here, having strong intentions, considering your listener, connecting to them, all the while staying profoundly and passionately enthusiastic about your message.
